Stratford-Upon-Avon steeped in culture and history on the banks of the River Avon is the birthplace of the world’s most famous poet and playwright, William Shakespeare. One may visit his birthplace and walk around inside the house. Other buildings connected to his family are also on view, Nash’s House, New Place, Anne Hathaway’s Cottage and at Wilmcote, four miles north is Mary Arden’s House and a farm run on the techniques used some five hundred years ago with players working the farm attired in period dress.

The Royal Shakespeare Company’s new theatre is due for completion in 2010.
Their players are performing at the Courtyard Theatre with the following plays being shown:
Romeo and Juliet and King Lear in March,
with the inclusion of Anthony and Cleopatra in April and May. In June the aforementioned will be enriched with Morte d’Arthur July some changes occur with the introduction of A Winter’s Tale, As You Like It and Julius Caesar.

23rd April, St George’s Day, there will be a colourful festival celebrating Shakespeare's birthday.
The Butterfly Farm is a warm humid and colourful experience as one walks midst hundreds of butterflies, some will settle on you for a while, depending on the colour of your clothing. Further in, one can look at small predatory spiders, scorpions and snakes.
From the 28th of May for five days, The Orchestra of the Swan with the violinist Taming Little ensemble will be celebrating the Spring Sounds International Music Festival.
